Letter to TeenStreet participants

Dear TeenStreet Participant,

As I write this to, the OM Malaysia office is a buzz of activity. Name tags assembled, final details are being confirmed with Kolej Tunku Jaafar, décor material is purchased, plans for the TNT.Race obstacle course are unfolding, procurement of audio visual equipment and lighting for the Metamorphosis Hall and the list goes on. Meanwhile the Program Team is making arrangements to fly in from the US, Germany and New Zealand. The worship teams are rehearsing. In the midst of all this, we continue to ask God to help each one of us experience a Metamorphosis.

Enclosed here is more information to help you as you prepare to join us on the 9th December.

Pick up point is the lobby of Kolej Tunku Jaafar.

Please note no visitors are allowed during TeenStreet.
If you are a non- Malaysian please send me your arrival and departure details so we can arrange your airport transfer.
At 17.02 you will have your first meeting with your NET in your accommodation. This is a time for you to get to know each other briefly.


Getting there.

An extra bus service is provided for participants at a cost of RM 30 roundtrip journey from PJ to Mantin and back to PJ. Please sign up at teenstreet@my.om.org NO later than 30 Nov.

TeenStreet Malaysia 3 weeks away!

TeenStreet is 3 weeks away! God has been working in exciting ways as the event approaches, and we want to praise Him for each thing He has done. Parimalam Balasubramaniam, TeenStreet Malaysia Director says, “We don’t depend on good planning, dedicated leaders and an exciting program … it is God whom we need to depend on for TeenStreet to be truly fruitful.” Join us as we continue to wait upon God in our final preparations, praying He will work a wondrous METAMORPHOSIS and transform the hearts of all who will be at TeenStreet.

Nov 19
· Praise God for growing excitement for TeenStreet.
· Praise God for 203 teens who have registered, provision of 40 Service Team, 37 Coaches, 8 Ministry and Management personnel (M&Ms), 6 intercessors, 6 counselors, and 34 other staff. Thank Him for making it possible for many to come, teens and staff alike. Praise Him for answering specific prayers for female Coaches, Fountain
(counseling) Team people, Communications staff and a Worship Team to play on 10 December.
Nov 20
· Praise God for providing in such a wonderful way the TeenStreet site at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar, its owners, staff and students, that they have been very helpful as we make preparations.
· Thank God for numerous ways in which He has been assisting the TeenStreet committee in its preparations.
Nov 21
· Praise God for the Leaders’ Training I on 11 Nov at Gereja Methodist Subang Jaya. Thank Him for a good time of fellowship and equipping.
· Pray that God will provide 1 photographer and 1 lifeguard.
Nov 22
· Praise God for Dan & Suzie Potter, Operation Mobilisation’s International Creative Youth Consultants, and the Worship Team who will be ministering to the teens.
· Praise God for a great range of workshops, gifted and creative workshop speakers (including 16 Bible College students from the US).
Nov 23
· Praise God for teens who are already beginning to raise funds for rural children at the pre-school learning centre in Kra Nhoung village, Kampung Speu province, Cambodia. Pray that as they do so they will catch the vision of God’s love for them.
· Praise God for sponsors, love gifts RM7,600 and USD1,000, people and all the help He sent.

· Pray that the final details of the arrangements for accommodation, food, music, workshops, coaches, service team, transport and site security will be worked out.
Nov 25
· Pray for the teens. Pray that God will prepare them even now to be challenged by this year’s theme,
Metamorphosis: The Heart of Change.
Nov 26
· Pray that God will anoint Dan & Suzie Potter as they prepare for the sessions, for good health, preparations of heart, mind and soul, clarity, creativity & power as they proclaim God’s message.
Nov 27
· Spend today praying for the work of God in Kra Nhoung village, Cambodia. Pray for the prevention of accidental deaths among toddlers and pre-school children in the village. Babies and toddlers are left unsupervised as their mothers tend the rice fields and often drown in the waters of the fields.
· Pray for the growth of the pre-school learning centre in Kra Nhoung village, that it will be a refuge for many toddlers and pre-school children who are at risk.
Nov 28
· Pray for the Coaches, Service Team, Worship Team, and all other staff involved in TeenStreet.
Pray for unity, good health, Christ-likeness, authentic faith, servanthood in leading, sensitivity to God’s Spirit, God’s empowerment, wisdom, grace. That they will connect with the teens and be role models who live out their faith in a secular, post-Christian world.
Nov 29
· Pray for good health, protection and safe arrival of the Potters and their family.
· Pray that God will strengthen all TeenStreet staff in their final preparations as TeenStreet approaches.
Nov 30
· Continue to pray that as teens raise funds for the pre-school learning centre in Kra Nhoung village, they will be excited about God’s work in the area.
· Pray for openness to the Gospel in Kampung Speu province, where the village is located, and the establishment of a local church. Currently there is little Christian presence in provincial areas.
Dec 1
· Pray for the Worship Team as they prepare to minister to the teens.
· Pray for the growth of adult learning in the areas of child health, education, parenting and God’s word, provided by the pre-school learning centre in Kampung Speu.
Dec 2
· Pray for Leaders’ Training II with Dan & Suzie at Gereja Methodist Subang Jaya today. Pray for a fruitful time of learning for Coaches, M&Ms, Service Team, and other staff. Pray for unity, continual preparation of heart and mind.
Dec 3
· Pray that Coaches will have a real heart for the teens, be open and understand their situation and needs. That they will live in a close friendship with Jesus, be mature in their faith, patient and courageous in getting to know the teens, be honest, balanced, and enthusiastic. That they will be Christ-like, act responsibly and give themselves sacrificially. Pray that they will inspire the teens to lead a transformed life for Jesus.
Dec 4
· Pray that God will empower M&Ms to minister to, supervise and counsel the Coaches under their care.
· Pray for the Fountain and Prayer Teams, for wisdom and sensitivity as they minister to the teens.
Dec 5
· Pray for teens who do not yet know Jesus, that they will begin to have a real friendship with Jesus and reflect Him in their world.
Dec 6
· Pray for TeenStreet prayer supporters, that God will give them insight and wisdom as they intercede for the teens, TeenStreet staff, and all that will happen at the TeenStreet event.
Dec 7
· Pray for good health, protection and safe travel of TeenStreet staff as they begin physical preparations at the TeenStreet site today.
Dec 8
· Pray specifically for the needs of any teens you know personally who will be at TeenStreet.
· Continue that God will strengthen and unite TeenStreet staff as they finalise site set-up and prepare to minister to the teens.
Dec 9
· Pray for a safe journey for all participants travelling to KTJ today and smooth check-in.
· Pray for the teens. Pray for good health and openness to God’s word.
· Pray that God will challenge participants as they consider Rom 8:1- 13, 28-29 today.
· Pray God will strengthen relationships of participants in their NET (small group).
Dec 10
· Pray that God will challenge participants as they consider Rom 8:14- 27, 30-31 today.
· Pray that the participants will understand the idea of Shhh 0.5 time, where everyone is completely silent across the site for 30 mins every day, that they will listen to what God is saying and meditate on Him.
· Pray that participants will have a good time talking interacting with Jesus during the Prayer Evening today. Pray that they will have a special time with God and that they will continue to be devoted to prayer after TeenStreet.
· Pray for workshops “Rope Evangelism”, “Art Jam!”, “Hip Hop”, “Journalism”, “Law & Order”, “Miming” and “Beads”, that God will guide workshop leaders as they connect with the teens.
· Pray for an honest and supportive environment in the chat.room, held daily, where teens will feel free to openly discuss issues of life and faith with older teens and leaders. Pray that leaders will be able to move beyond “talking to teens” to “talking with teens” about issues relevant to them, and that this conversation will spread around churches, schools and families.
Dec 11
· Pray that God will impact teens as they consider Rom 7:15-25; 8:5- 7, 32-33 and Matt 19:16-23 today.
· Pray for a spirit of metamorphosis in the teens, an undying passion to be transformed into Christ-likeness. Pray for any teens you know personally who are at TeenStreet.
· Pray for focus as the Worship Team leads participants in worship and minister to them.
· Pray God will enable workshop leaders in “Personality Inventories”, “Indoor Ice Breakers”, “Outdoor Survival”, Why Bad Things Happen to Good People”, How to Share Testimony”, “Clowning” and “Gospel Magic” to connect with the teens and inspire them to live for Jesus in every area of their lives.
· Pray that teens will have a fruitful time in their NET, reflecting on what God has done in their life during the day, reviewing memory verses and praying together as a group.
· Praise God for all that He has done so far, and will continue to do in the lives of all the participants of TeenStreet, teens and leaders alike.
Dec 12
· Pray that God will challenge participants as they consider Rom 6:1- 23, 34-35; 8:8-10 and 1 Kgs 19 today.
· Pray God will enable workshop leaders in “Makeovers”, “Discover Sudan”, “Faith & Science”, “Worship Leading”, “Guitar & Strings”, “Juggling” and “Art & Graffiti” to inspire the teens to live transformed lives for Jesus.
· Pray that teens will have a good time as they participate in workshops and sports.
· Pray that as teens wind down in their NETS at the close of each day, that they will reflect back on what God has done in their life that day, and have a good time reviewing memory verses, praying together as a group and being accountable for one another.
Dec 13
· Pray that God will challenge participants as they consider Rom 7:1- 6; 8:11-14, 36-37 and Acts 1:1-11 today.
· Pray for good weather for the TNT.Race, that participants will run this race for the children at the pre-school learning centre in Cambodia and have lots of fun.
· Pray that church pastors visiting TeenStreet today will have a fruitful time connecting with all that is happening at TeenStreet and in the lives of the teens.
· The Throne Room is an extended time of worship and prayer at the end of each day at TeenStreet. Pray that teens will have a special time with God and be challenged by Him in every area of their life.
Pray that God will empower the Worship Team, Prayer Team and Fountain Team to minister appropriately to teens in need.
Dec 14
· Pray that participants will desire to live transformed lives for Jesus as TeenStreet Metamorphosis ends today.
· Praise God for all He has done in TeenStreet 2006. Pray that as loose ends are tied up that God’s hand will be on it.
· Pray for journey mercies and a good time packing up.
· Thank God for a wonderful time with Him.

· Pray that all TeenStreet participants will wake up today and continue on their Big Adventure (personal time with God).
Dec 16
· Pray that participants will be strengthened by God to live for Him.
Pray for right attitudes in their lives.
Week of Dec 17
· Pray that participants will have a great meeting with God in His Throne Room.
· Pray for Pari and the TeenStreet committee that God will continue to give them strength and a vision for TeenStreet.
· Pray for the Coaches and M&M leaders that God will continue to give them a huge passion for teenagers. Pray that after TeenStreet they will continue to encourage and strengthen those they ministered to during TeenStreet, reminding teens and each other to be faithful about the decisions they made.
Week of Dec 24
· Pray for Dan & Suzie as they continue to serve Him in TeenStreet ministry around the world.
· Pray that as TeenStreet participants look ahead to 2007, they will be strengthened by the Lord to make decisions pleasing to Him and to live according to His word.
· Give praise to God for all that He has done and will do in the lives of all TeenStreet participants. Pray that all will remain connected to Him in 2007.
